Tony Romo's right pinkie is fine.
At least that's what coach Wade Phillips said.
Romo returned to the lineup Sunday night after missing the last three games with a fractured pinkie.
Still wearing a splint, Romo completed 19 of 27 passes for 198 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the Cowboys' win over the Redskins.
Phillips said Romo will continue to wear the splint for the next two games and have the pinkie re-evaluated then.
"I don't know that I can throw the ball where I need to throw it without the splint,"
Romo said.
Romo is also trying to find a comfort level when he throws with the splint but is still having problems.
This was evident on his first interception, when his pass was thrown behind Terrell Owens because the ball slipped out of his hand.
"You try to adjust with your shoulders and throw and stuff, and I didn't adjust enough, obviously,"
Romo said after the game. "It's going to happen. I'm disappointed it did. But at the same point, I did some things I was pretty happy with [Sunday] coming back after that long [layoff]."
Jones decision looming: Suspended cornerback Adam Jones is eligible for reinstatement this week, but NFL officials said no decision was made Monday.
Jones was suspended indefinitely Oct. 14 for violations of the NFL conduct policy.
With the four-game minimum up, the league can re-evaluate Jones' status.
Phillips said he would welcome Jones back.
"I think he can add something,"
he said. "The guy worked hard in practice, was at all the meetings, never late for anything, and he listened. He tried to do what you wanted."
Special teams woes: Phillips said he was concerned about a 58-yard kickoff return by Washington's Rock Cartwright that set up a go-ahead field goal at the end of the first half.
"Our kickoff coverage was bad before the half. It bothers me,"
Phillips said. "We've got to place the ball better kicking it off."
Phillips also said he wasn't happy with the blocking on special teams.
