Dallas Cowboys 38, Philadelphia Eagles 17
The Dallas Cowboys walked over the once-fearsome Eagles Sunday night, dominating the offensive and defensive lines en route to a 38-17 victory in Philly. In what was supposed to be a true divisional test for the Cowboys, they seemed to have little problem running up the score on the hapless Eagles, who dropped to 3-5 on the year.
Tony Romo was his usual amazing self, going 20-for-25 for 324 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, including several throws under extreme pressure that he turned into huge completions. More importantly, Tony Romo was able to lead the Cowboys to scores following each Eagles score, putting the game out of reach early in the the third quarter.
Terrell Owens had a huge day against his former employers, catching 10 passes for 174 yards and a third quarter touchdown. Tight end Jason Whitten had the catch of the night, however, getting blasted and having his helmet ripped off in one catch, maintaining his balance and running for 53 yards sans headgear.
The win improves the Cowboys to 7-1 on the year, and 2-0 in the division.
