The school's making big money by selling his old number 16, especially when the Romo-led Cowboys made the 2006 NFL playoffs.
"We've probably been going through three to five a day recently," said Burling.
"Obviously last winter, when the playoffs were starting, it was a pretty hot item, and then now again, with the 10-1 Packers and Cowboys now playing, we've been having a lot of interest again on the web site."
Interest not only because of Romo's notoriety from his dating life, including singer Carrie Underwood,
but the most underlying factor - his right arm.
The interest in Romo-related items also started when TV viewers saw Romo's old tattered high school shirt under his Cowboys #9.
"Last year, when Tony started really making a name for himself, he was getting interviewed a lot, and people saw this Burlington High School t-shirt he always wears under his shoulder pads," stated Burling.
"People started calling us and asked why we didn't have those shirts available, so we kind of went with a retro kind of t-shirt. Those are real popular."
Burlington High also followed suit after Romo's college alma mater started selling his old uniform.
"Eastern Illinois was also doing real well," said Burling. "People wanted his college jersey, so we went into the high school market."
There's interest in Wisconsin, Dallas, and even across the pond.
"We keep getting people from France buying the stuff," stated Burling. "We don't know if they're quasi-Cowboys fans, or Tony Romo fans."
But Burlington High hasn't retired Romo's #16 yet.
"Our all-conference linebacker wore that number this year," admitted Burling.
"We haven't retired it yet, but now that (Tony's) settled in on a team, that'll be a tough jersey to keep around now."
Burling says most fans remember Romo because of how good of a kid he was, not just his exploits on the field.
"This kid's worked hard for everything he's got, and you're happy when good things happen to good people like this," said Burling.
So what are most fans in Burlington hoping for on Tuesday?
"The people around here, a lot of them are still die-hard Packers fans, but they want Romo to throw five touchdowns, but the Packers still to win."
